just finished reading this book, which i borrowed from rebecca. it's written by mildred d. taylor [also the author of "roll of thunder, hear my cry"].
"the land" is one of the best books i've read in a long long long time... i seriously couldn't put it down. awesome plot, character development, and real-life goodness.
in other news, i found a super old copy of my favorite book ["a tree grows in brooklyn"] on grammy's bookshelf. so it's now added to my library!! <3
