Both filled with glimpses of what it's like living here. One Sunday we walked into CVS for a quick passport-photo-shoot. We ran into our across the street neighbor, chatted with our co-worker, and waved to my student. The other Sunday we went for a walk around the block and stopped by to talk with a family from church. Then we continued to Rita's and saw a fellow youth group leader. Crazy!
Joel and I are both transplants to the area. We moved here for jobs, met, fell in love, bought a house, got married, and started life together. None of our families are around and sometimes we're lonely for them. He definitely didn't imagine he'd stick around this long and we aren't necessarily sure we will live here forever. But it's become home and we like living here.
